Feedback

As scientists and veterinarians, we will often find ourselves in situations where we are expected to give and receive feedback. Knowing how to do this effectively is an important part of communication that can increase productivity and team harmony. Below I have linked a few resources we will use as a primer for our discussion.

Engaged Feedback

Here is a link to a podcast that is the second of a two-part series related to giving and receiving feedback based Brené Brown's book Dare to Lead. Feel free to listen to both if you have time. But, the second part contains the most relevant content. Click here if you are interested in listening to Part 1.

National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD)- The University of Minnesota is an institutional member of NCFDD which means all graduate students and post-docs have access to the resources they provide at no cost. While the program does not have a section dedicated to giving and receiving feedback explicitly, the core curriculum offers a webinar on managing stress, rejection, and haters in your midst (See Skill #10 in the Core Curriculum).
